A West Mifflin couple was killed when their vehicle collided with a minivan in Mount Gilead, Ohio, while the two were on their way to see their daughter compete in a cheerleading competition.

Police said Edward and Jane Fetcho were headed east on Route 95 near Columbus when their vehicle failed to yield while turning into a private driveway.

Officials said it was snowing at the time, and weather may have been a factor in the crash.

The minivan hit the Fetchos' sport utility vehicle, forcing it off the road. The driver of the minivan suffered injuries due to the collision, police said. They said all three people involved were wearing their seatbelts.

A relative told Action News' news exchange partners at the Pittsburgh Tribune Review that the Fetchos were visiting their only child, Ashley.

Ashley Fetcho is a senior at Virginia Tech.

Edward Fetcho, 49, worked as a dispatcher for Allegheny County emergency dispatch.

Jane Fetcho, 47, worked at PNC Bank in downtown Pittsburgh.
