New Rape Allegations Surface At Upper St. ClairPOSTED: 7:36 am EST February 20,
2008 PITTSBURGH -- There are new allegations of rape at Upper St. Clair High School. Two more young girls have come forward, saying they were assaulted by a fellow student in incidents that took place inside the school and off campus. The new accusations bring the total number of victims to four, which include six rape charges as well as sexual assault and terroristic threats."We were aware of these two additional victims," said Sgt. Ronald Fleischer of the Upper St. Clair Police Department. "It just took a little bit more interviewing and a little more investigation."Police said they are leaving the investigation open, because they believe there could be other victims."This is very traumatic for anyone to go through, let alone a high school student," said Fleischer. "These are very young victims. Even the actor's very young."Because of the accused boy's age, he has only been identified as a freshman at the school.Word of the violent on-campus assaults has baffled the community"I think that's pretty crazy," said nearby worker Darren Mascilli. "I mean, what's the world coming to? If people are resorting to doing those kinds of things in schools, where are you safe?"The suspect is being held at the Shuman Juvenile Detention Center, facing several charges. He is due in juvenile court next week, but police said there is still the possibility that he could be charged as an adult.
