Gibsonia Native Pilots Space Shuttle Atlantis

At Cape Canaveral in Florida on Thursday, a Pittsburgh-area man led the launch of shuttle Atlantis.

The shuttle mission will put a new module for the international space station into orbit.

In command was Gibsonia native Stephen Frick.

Thursday's launch was the first of several planned spaceflights for 2008.
