A vocational-technical school teacher in North Fayette Township was arrested on Tuesday, accused of sexually assaulting a student.

Richard Eidam, 55, of New Castle, was charged with indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child and corruption of minors.

The 15-year-old student said the assaults happened in October while he was attending the Parkway West Area Vocational School.

According to the criminal complaint, the assaults happened when the teen decided he wanted to quit the auto mechanics class.

The victim said Eidam often held him in the classroom when the rest of the students left, hugging and kissing him on the face and neck.

North Fayette police began investigating after the child came forward. The case was then forwarded to the Allegheny County police.
