Plans For North Shore Fred Rogers Statue Move Forward

The plan to construct a sculpture of Fred Rogers on Pittsburgh's North Shore is moving forward.

The Sports and Exhibition Authority approved a development and maintenance agreement for the $3 million project.

The sculpture would be put up near the south exit of Heinz Field, making use of the Old Manchester Bridge pier.

Officials said construction could start in the next few months.
