It's generally accepted that yoga lowers blood pressure and decreases stress. Other studies have shown that dogs can also lower anxiety levels, too. Now, a Hampton yoga teacher has joined a growing national trend by marrying the two, creating "Doga."

WTAE Channel 4 Action News anchor Sally Wiggin took part in one of the classes with her 10-year-old German shepherd, Emma.

"I think it is amazing, 12 to 15 dogs. Mass chaos, and end of yoga, peaceful," said instructor Lorie Ireland. "We don't allow our minds to become agitated by our dog's behavior."

"When I have done a practice and I am relaxed, she is relaxed, too," said yoga teacher Jen Stratakis.

The classes first started at Animal Friends on Camp Horne Road in Ohio Township as a break for employees there who wanted some dog time.
