2008 UPPER ST. CLAIR, Pa. -- A teacher in the Pittsburgh Public Schools charged with sexually assaulting a male student at his Upper St. Clair home is headed to trial.Regis Kirby, who teaches at Carrick High School is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and furnishing alcohol to minors.According to court documents, the alleged 17-year-old victim went with his brother and a cousin to Kirby's home, where they were given beer and liquor to drink.All four people sat around a campfire in the back yard and talked until the young men fell asleep, and the 17-year-old boy was later awakened by Kirby assaulting him, according to the criminal complaint.The teenager told police that Kirby whispered in his ear and said he would kill the teen if he told anyone what happened, according to the complaint.The alleged incident happened seven months ago, but the teen recently came forward with his story, police said.Kirby is being held on $25,000 cash bond. If he posts the bail money, a judge has ordered that he will go to a behavioral health clinic for evaluation and not have any contact with the alleged victim.WTAE Channel 4 Action News has not yet been able to reach Pittsburgh Public Schools officials for comment.
