Police said a Beaver County man was justified in shooting one of two men who broke into his house Friday morning.

They said they do not plan to file charges against the man.

Keith McCue, of Darlington Township, said he woke up to find two men in his house. He said one of the men was armed with a rifle.

Police said McCue feared for the safety of his wife and child -- so he grabbed a handgun and fired, striking one of the men in the head.

Gary Brooks, 26, was hit in the head. Brooks and his alleged accomplice, Kevin Raines, 41, were arrested.

Police gave no word on Brooks' condition.
