Kennedy Space Center technicians are installing the new parts that NASA officials hope will make the shuttle Atlantis safe to fly.

NASA set Feb. 7 as the tentative new launch date for space shuttle Atlantis.

The shuttle was delayed twice in December because of problems with fuel sensors.

The technicians are putting in new connectors that engineers said will solve the fuel sensor problems that put the shuttle's launch on hold last month.

The launch was originally rescheduled for Jan. 24, but NASA now said it needs more time to get the shuttle ready.

Liftoff is scheduled for 2:47 p.m.
