Projected Opening Date For North Shore Casino Set

The target opening date for the Majestic Star Casino on Pittsburgh's North Shore has been set.

Construction officials said the $450 million casino would open on May 1, 2009.

Casino owner Don Barden, along with celebrity partners Jerome Bettis, the former Steelers running back, and singer Smokey Robinson broke ground at the site about a month ago.

But work on the casino has been delayed several times due to concerns about traffic from the Steelers, Pirates and Carnegie Science Center.
