West Penn Allegheny Health System officials are warning of a security breach.

Officials said someone stole a laptop computer containing patient data from a homecare nurse's home in November.

The breach puts 42,000 patients at risk for identity theft.

All West Penn, Allegheny General Hospital and Forbes Hospice program patients are being notified.

West Penn officials said the only patients who may be affected were in the home care and Hospice programs.
