Allegheny County Council introduced two new taxes that may come to the city.

Chief Executive Dan Onorato said the taxes will fund Port Authority, including the bus and trolley system.

The taxes include a ten per cent tax on poured alcoholic drinks, and a two dollar a day tax on rental cars. Council expects the taxes to generate $35-million dollars a year to help fund Port Authority Transit.

A prelimary vote could come as early as Wednesday with a final vote expected in early December.
