Pittsburgh is on the forefront of something called "upcycling."

Upcycling means taking something that would be thrown away and making it useful again.

The Handmade Arcade is a one-of-a-kind eco-friendly artist and Indie craft fair that's taking place this weekend at Construction Junction in Point Breeze.

At the fair, you can find Kool-Aid hand dyed yarn that's woven into shawls and caps, recycled greeting cards, old typewriter keys remade into jewelry, hand-me-down clothing gets transformed into updated stylish designs and plenty more eco-friendly products.

There will be more than 100 vendors at the event, which is setting up shop on Saturday and Sunday.

Last year, more than 5,000 people showed for the event. This year, they're expecting even more.
