The homicide case of Patrick Kenney, which was cold for more than two years, took an unusual turn on Friday, shortly after an arrest was made.

At a preliminary hearing for Bryan Sedlak, the man accused of killing Kenney, a key witness claimed he knew what happened the night of the slaying.

According to the witness, Kenney was killed inside a former tanning salon in Homestead.

The man said Kenney was not only slain at the salon but that his body was wrapped in a carpet, kicked and jumped on.

The man testified that Sedlak also admitted to killing Kenney.

The witness testified that inside the former Waters Edge Tanning Salon, blood covered the floor and was smeared along the wall near where Kenney's body was lying.

He told the judge, under an immunity agreement, how Sedlak brought him back to the salon in February 2005 and showed him the body, asking him to help get rid of it. The witness said he refused to help with the body but testified that he helped Sedlak hide Kenney's Cadillac Escalade.

Kenney's body has never been found.

"It rips me apart every day," said Kenney's father, James. "It's all right here, ripping me apart."

The witness testified that Sedlak told him he skinned Kenney's body, cut him up and then poured sulfuric acid on his tattoos so he wouldn't be identified.

The witness told the judge Kenney was killed over drugs, but Sedlak insists he is innocent.

Sedlak was held on all charges. No trial date has been announced.
