Ex-Wild Things Coach Found Guilty In Double-Fatal I-70 Crash

Baseball Coach Was Accused Of Homicide By Vehicle In Washington County

A former Washington Wild Things baseball coach has been found guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of homicide by vehicle in 2005 crash that killed two people.

Roy Jacobs, 29, was found not guilty on other charges stemming from the Washington County crash.

Robert Bernardini, of South Franklin Township, and Richard Morris, of Canonsburg, were killed in the wreck on Interstate 70 in Canton Township.

A westbound pickup truck crossed the median and struck a car in the eastbound lanes, near the Chestnut Street exit, police said.

Police said all three men were leaving a Christmas party when the crash happened.
