Pittsburgh's newest choice in downtown living opened its doors Monday morning.

The city's 151 First Side offers spectacular views of the South Side and luxury amenities, but the urban lifestyle comes at a price ranging from $200,000 to $1.8 million for the penthouse view.

But will local residents buy into the boom?

"We are pretty slow and steady growth, as opposed to aggressive growth of adjustable mortgages that people were way overextended," said Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato. "We don't have that problem like they do in other regions."

About 75 percent of the units have been sold. Forty percent of those were bought by people from outside western Pennsylvania.
