If you don't already have something planned for the weekend, there's trash waiting to be picked up and thrown out in Pittsburgh and beyond.

You'll see lots of your neighbors pitching in.

Boris Weinstein formed Citizens Against Litter. He started as a one-man show, but CAL has turned into hundreds of people turning out this weekend.

Weinstein and his band of refuse recruits are cleaning up neighborhoods one by one.

"I am Mr. Litterman, and I love it," Weinstein said.

Last fall, Weinstein joined his grass roots effort group in Squirrel Hill, along with people in Homewood and Point Breeze.

More than 300 volunteers turned out to pick up trash.

In the spring, they organized again, adding three more communities and six moths later, they're doing it again this weekend.

"It's a bye week for the Steelers," said Weinstein. "No excuses not to volunteer."

All but three city neighborhoods have signed up to clean up. Six communities from Allegheny County, 13 towns in Beaver County and over 4,000 students from 40 schools are going to join in as well.

To find out where and when people from your neighborhood are cleaning up this weekend, you can call Weinstein at 412-688-9120 or e-mail him at boris.weinstein@verizon.net or info@citizensagainstlitter.org.

You can also visit the group's Web site at www.CitizensAgainstLitter.org.
