Team 4: Cop Accused Of Punching Handcuffed Suspect Under More Fire

There is new information Monday on the Braddock police officer accused of punching a suspect in handcuffs last week.

As Team 4 reported last week, officer Kevin Lukart was charged with exposing himself to a girl seven years ago while working in Apollo.

Seven years later, the victim's father is still angry about the light sentence Lukart received in the case involving his daughter.

Jim Baker said he was even angrier when he heard Lukart was in trouble once again.

According to news reports, Lukart picked up the 17-year-old girl when she was walking by herself late one night. He was supposed to take her home but instead he took her down a dirt road behind a junkyard in North Apollo.

"He was trying to make with my daughter and then he turned around and he was bringing her back because she said she had to get home," Baker said.

But when Lukart dropped off Baker's daughter at her home, the officer did something else.

"When she was getting out of the car, he exposed himself and wanted her to commit an act on him and she says, 'I have to leave,'" said Baker.

Court records of the case were sealed, but Baker figured Lukart's police career was over.

"Any community would hire him after that has rocks in their head," said Baker. "Why would you want a police officer does something like that in your community?"

Last week, Braddock Mayor John Fetterman said officials did not know about the Apollo case because the court records were apparently expunged.

The District Attorney is currently investigating the latest incident with Lukart.
