A study paid for by the owners of the future Majestic Star casino says traffic problems won't be as bad as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates are predicting.

The $450 million casino is planned to be built near PNC Park and Heinz Field on the city's North Shore, where the Pirates and Steelers play.

The study paid for by PITG Gaming Inc. says casino traffic will add no more than five minutes to game-day traffic delays that fans already face.

The two sports teams predict that the casino will cause game-day delays of 90 minutes for Pirates fans and 2½ hours for Steelers fans.

The city planning commission must now weigh the study.
