Who killed Dr. John Yelenic of Indiana County? A pair of writers is on a mission to find out.

The young Blairsville dentist was found dead in his home in April 2006 and so far, no arrests have been made.

Now his killing is the subject of both a book and a documentary.

The book, called "Who Killed…," is on store shelves now, and the documentary comes out next month.

Yelenic's family is hopeful both will uncover new tips that lead to an arrest.

The book highlights 20 unsolved homicides in the Pittsburgh area. Author Jack Swint devotes a lengthy chapter to the slaying of Yelenic.

Swint describes the gory crime scene that was caused by a huge gash to Yelenic's neck when someone put his head through a plate glass window.

Researcher Andrea Niapas is producing a documentary on Yelenic's life and death, which will detail the evidence police are working with, including a bloody shoe print and interviews with attorneys who handled Yelenic's finances.

"The Moonda case, that's a perfect example, could this have been something like that?"said Niapas, referring to the case in which the wife of a doctor was convicted of hiring her lover to kill him. "Could the wife had planned it and got somebody else to do the work?"

Yelenic's wife, Michelle, has repeatedly refused comment, and police have not named her a suspect. Police will not confirm if they are investigating her boyfriend, a law enforcement officer.

The documentary will be sent to network television stations in the hopes of keeping the story in the public eye. It will also be given to Yelenic's adopted son, who is now 10.
