2007 SOMERSET, Pa. -- A traveling exhibit of Sept. 11, 2001 memorabilia is being displayed in Somerset County, where Flight 93 crashed, on the sixth anniversary of the terrorist attacks. A group of retired police officers from New York City's Port Authority travel from city to city in a bus to bring with them thousands of artifacts from the World Trade Center.The exhibit features more than 200 artifacts and mementoes, from smashed doorknobs to a cell phone to pieces of the hijacked planes.Pieces of debris on display were pulled from the rubble in the weeks and months after the Sept. 11 attacks.They will be displayed through the anniversary Tuesday at a Quality Inn just a few miles from the site of the Flight 93 crash, which killed 39 passengers and crew aboard."I really, really like to see when the children come through," said retired NYC Port Authority officer Lt. Chet Weekes. "When they get to be my age, I hope they remember it. We should never forget events like that. We should never forget those events."Officer Chris Amoroso, who rushed back into the towers to rescue more people that day, died minutes after one of the photos in the exhibit was taken.Officer Clinton Davis was on patrol when the second plane hit. He left behind a wife and young son.Fred Morrone was the superintendent of the entire Port Authority Police Department.
