Work will begin soon on a permanent, two-story casino with 3,000 slot machines in North Strabane Township, Washington County.

The plans were unveiled on Wednesday morning at the Meadows Racetrack and Casino, where a temporary casino has been operating for about two months.

A covered grandstand area will overlook the race track at the new casino.

Other features will include a 200-room hotel and luxury spa, VIP boxes to view the track, restaurants and a lounge.

The permanent casino is scheduled to open in early 2009.
