PITTSBURGH -- Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato issued the following statement regarding the release of the County Controller's study on Port Authority:

"In April, the Port Authority Board of Directors and I asked the County Controller to begin a review of the Authority's financial statements and past management practices. I want to thank the Controller and his staff for conducting the first phase of that review and for benchmarking Port Authority against similar transit agencies. The findings released today support my position that Port Authority must implement additional cost controls and provide more efficient service. I look forward to working with Port Authority management and labor to further reform and strengthen mass transit in Allegheny County."
