Big Fire Damages Barn With Animals Inside

A large fire broke out at the Lone Oak Farm in Salem Township, Westmoreland County, late Wednesday night.

More than 160 cattle were housed in the barn. Most of the animals escaped without injury, except for a few burns.

"When I got here, calves were running everywhere," said the barn owner's son, Chuck Carr. "Neighbors helped us get the calves into a machine shed, and I think that we got them all, but one ran to a neighboring farm."

Investigators aren't sure what caused the fire yet.
