2007 MEADOW LAND, Pa. -- The grand opening of the Meadows Casino in Washington County has been delayed because of security concerns, officials said. The casino was scheduled to open on Tuesday, but casino operators announced slot lovers will have to wait a little bit longer so they can make sure the security is ready to go."Our construction team has done a tremendous job of building a first-class casino from the ground up in only six short months," said a statement released by Cannery Casino Resorts. "The progress has been unbelievable, so delaying our opening a few days to make sure everything is ready is the right thing to do."The Meadows said the extra time will allow for final enhancements to be made to the facility's security system.Once the process is complete, casino operators said new dates will be announced for the test nights and the official grand opening.
