WTAE Channel 4 Action News reporter Bob Mayo is this year's recipient of the Golden Quill Award for Service to Journalism.

Also, "Passing of Power" -- Mayo's coverage of Mayor Luke Ravenstahl being sworn in on the night of Bob O'Connor's death -- earned him the Ed King Memorial Award for best-of-show in television.

Mayo also won the award for spot news in the television category for his "Passing of Power" coverage.

The Golden Quill Awards recognize excellence in journalism in western Pennsylvania. They were presented at the downtown Hilton on Monday night.
