It was a beautiful day in a neighborhood of Latrobe on Monday as the new Fred Rogers Center got a $1 million state grant.

Sen. Bob Regola delivered a check to St. Vincent College, where the Early Learning and Children's Media Center is under construction.

Before Mr. Rogers died in 2003, he chose the college as the place to house his archives.

The $14 million center will serve as a resource for educators and researchers.

Construction is expected to be completed by the spring of next year.
