Police said they arrested alleged graffiti vandal Daniel Joseph "MFONE" Montano, 21, of Highland Park.

According to police, officers were responding to a call on Monday in Oakland, where a witness said someone was spray-painting several buildings.

Police said the witness gave a detailed, accurate description, matching Montano.

Police said they located Montano a short time later and pursued him on foot.

Damage estimates were about $3,200 to $14,000 per building, said Detective Daniel Sullivan of the Graffiti Task Force.

Montano is charged with possessing instruments of crime and criminal mischief.

Anyone who owns property that was tagged with "MFONE" is asked to contact authorities.
