PITTSBURGH -- A video taken during a Democratic ward meeting involving Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and County Executive Dan Onorato has been posted on YouTube.com and is having Pittsburgh residents ask just who is "the boss?"

Ravenstahl said he and Onorato have a relationship of equals. He said he finds it humorous that what he meant as a line to get a laugh was treated as something political.
During the meeting, a crowd asked Ravenstahl what the city's position on Allegheny County's Port Authority bus service cuts was, and Ravenstahl pointed to Onorato and said, "You can ask the boss, over there."It was a comment that drew laughter from the crowd, but someone with a video camera was quick to upload via the Internet for everyone to see."It was a joke," said Ravenstahl. "If the clip would have continued, you would have seen Dan was the next to speak, and it was a Port Authority question. And so I simply referred and said, 'Ask the boss' and then went on to answer the question on what we're doing on the city end."Onorato joined in the laughter to the side of the room, and Ravenstahl did go on to tell the crowd he's pressing for continued bus service to all city neighborhoods."No more, no less than a simple joke," said Ravenstahl. "And it's unfortunate that it's been portrayed in a different light. Dan and I have a great relationship. I'm proud of the fact that he's supportive of me. It's in this city and region's best interest for us to work closely together and we do."Ravenstahl said that when county issues come up, Onorato is the leader on those issues. He said when city issues come up, Ravenstahl is the one who takes the lead.
