A Wilkinsburg man was sentenced to life in prison on Friday with no chance for parole for killing his mistress's husband in 1975.

Steven Slutzker, 56, was convicted in January in the shooting death of John Mudd, Sr., 31.

Another jury convicted Slutzker in 1992, but the conviction was appealed and overturned, and Judge Jeffrey Manning ordered a second trial.

Mudd's body was found in the basement of his home in December 1975.

The case went cold until Mudd's son told investigators he had repressed memories of the murder.
