The Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t in the Super Bowl on Sunday, but most fans agree there's nothing like seeing the big game in high-definition, no matter who's playing.

An estimated 2.5 million people are running out to get high-definition televisions this year just to watch the game, but how do you know you're picking the right one?

There are so many types of televisions to choose from, which is causing quite a dilemma for football fans.

"I wanted to do a little research and learn, because I don't know a whole lot about it," said Dan Colcumb, who is looking for a new television.

Call 4 Action will give you some insight on which televisions are the best for your buck.

We'll start with the flat-panel, high-definition television.

Plasma and LCD are the two types you could purchase.

The picture on a plasma screen comes from gasses. The picture from the LCD comes from crystals.

According to consumer reports, the plasma screen has more glare, while the LCD could be hard to watch at an angle.

Plasmas cost a bit less, but LCD televisions are lighter.

For screens under 40 inches, experts said there's not much difference.

"When you get into the larger sizes, LCDs tend to color-wash a little bit," said Best Buy employee Bill Klee. "So you have to get a plasma in a larger size if you want the quality."

Next up are the rear-projection HDTVs. They have the big backs, but the high-definition picture is just as clear.

"You're going to get a much larger screen size for the dollar value," said Klee. "You're looking at roughly half the price on a 50-inch."

According to Consumer Reports, rear-projection televisions are more repair-prone, though.

Finally, some HDTVs have a sharper picture than others.

Those with the full HD or 1080, have the highest resolution. Those with 720 have a little less.

The 1080s are far more expensive, but the Super Bowl broadcast would be extra clear.

And if you want to rewatch highlights from the big game, iTunes is offering fans a chance for about $2.

The NFL is encouraging fans to download the clips, put them on their iPods and share them with their friends around the water cooler on Monday morning.
