The Allegheny County Jail will be receiving added enforcement, but not in the form of police officers.

A barbed-wire fence will be constructed around the jail to prevent inmates from getting out and contraband from getting in.

According to WTAE Channel 4's news exchange partners at the Tribune Review, inmates would often use broomsticks with dental floss tied to the end to pull up drugs and tobacco.

Construction on the $22,000 fence starts in two weeks.
