One firefighter was injured on Thursday while battling a blaze in Jeannette.

Crews from Jeannette, Harrison City, Grapeville and South West Greensburg helped battle the blaze, which spread to a neighboring home.

Rich Hilty, 18, said he believes the fire might have started after he left candles burning overnight after holding a holiday party.

"I ran up to the attic and there was like smoke from the ceiling to the floor," said Hilty. "I couldn't breath. My lungs hurt a little bit. That's why I had to get out."

Everyone got out of the home safely.

The house is a total loss, investigators said.

Crews said the injured firefighter was not seriously hurt.
