Hero Soldier Laid To Rest

A split-second decision cost Army Pfc. Ross McGinnis his life -- but it saved the lives of four others.

While on duty in Baghdad, the 19-year-old McGinnis fell on a grenade. He died on Dec. 4 after saving his comrades.

People came from all over to the small town of Knox, Pa., to pay their respects to his selfless sacrifice on Sunday.

The Pentagon will decide if McGinnis should receive a posthumous Medal of Honor -- something many of those close to him believe he deserves.

“He was a guy who would do anything for anybody,” said Jacob Blake, a friend of McGinnis.

It could take two years for the Pentagon to decide if McGinnis will receive the Medal of Honor.

Only four have been awarded in the U.S. since the Vietnam War.
