A grinch tried to steal Christmas from a couple in Pittsburgh's Greenfield section.

John and Christine Cushman said someone took the nativity scene out of their yard on Sunday night.

The nativity is about 3½ feet high and features ceramic figures of Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus.

Christine Cushman said the theft happened at about 9:30 p.m. when she and her husband were inside the home decorating.

The Cushmans said they just wanted the nativity scene back, no questions asked.

And they got their wish on Wednesday, when someone came forward with the nativity.

As promised, no questions were asked, and the nativity is once again on display in the Cushmans' yard.
