Verizon President William Peterson.But how does Verizon compare with Comcast price-wise?Verizon FiOS is $42.99 a month for its premier digital service, plus $4.99 for the box. Comcast is $56.39 a month for digital starter cable. For high-definition stations, FiOS is $9.99 a month and Comcast $8.99.Parts of the following communities currently have FiOS TV availability:Bethel Park Franklin Park Hampton Indiana Township McCandless Mt. Lebanon O'Hara Ohio Township Peters Ross Sewickley Shaler Upper St. Clair West ViewMore neighborhoods will be added as the company negotiates cable franchise agreements in each area, Verizon said.Under current state regulations, the company must negotiate franchises with each individual area it hopes to serve, which can be a time-consuming process in a state like Pennsylvania with many small municipalities.
