No one was injured but two houses were heavily damaged by a fire that broke out on Walnut Street in Edgewood Sunday night.

The fire started in one house with several apartments inside and spread quickly to a second house with apartments inside, too.

Fire companies from several nearby communities battled the four-alarm fire.

The Red Cross is assisting the occupants of the houses.

There is no word yet on the cause.
