Port Authority said they are delaying the North Shore Connector project for a few months.

Work was expected to begin in October, but was pushed back until January.

Crews are still surveying local utility lines before digging can begin.

The $435 million tunnel project, which will go under the Allegheny River, is expected to open by summer of 2011.
