Two months after his last escape, Mr. Bigglesworth is back on the run.

Mr. Bigglesworth

The elusive African serval cat took off from his Point Breeze home late Wednesday night, WTAE Action News reports.

He last ran away from owner Mark Nurenberg in August and was able to evade a search party in nearby Homewood Cemetery for almost a month. Click here to watch WTAE video of the search.

Nurenberg told WTAE Thursday that Mr. Bigglesworth escaped this time after someone attempted to break into his owner's house.

Work to upgrade the security features on Mr. Bigglesworth's cage was being done, so the cat was loose in the house.

When the intruder entered, he or she must have heard the cat and left, leaving the door open and allowing Mr. Bigglesworth to escape, the owner said.

Nurenberg said Mr. Bigglesworth was last seen about a block away "munching on a rodent."

Traps are going up again. They will tempting Mr. Bigglesworth with tasty treats, such as a bait stick dipped in shellfish and some of the cat's food, including steak.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission will be bringing in a better trap Friday.

The cat's owner said that this will be the last hunt for his pet.

"It's become obvious that I can't provide what he needs to have," he said. "I think it might be best to give him up to a sanctuary."

There is a reward if Mr. Bigglesworth is captured and returned safely.

Homewood Cemetary worker Joe Koren said Thursday that he hasn't seen Mr. Bigglesworth after his second escape.

"I personally haven't seen the cat," he said.

Bigglesworth's latest escape could be a real problem for him, because he is not used to cold weather. A substantial drop in temperature is expected in the city this weekend.
