Hornets' Brown Decides To Remain With Hornets For 2009-10 Season

New Orleans, LA -- (Sports Network) - Guard Devin Brown exercised a player's option in his contract and will remain with the New Orleans Hornets for the 2009-10 season, the club announced on Thursday.Per team policy, financial terms of the contract were not released. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Brown, who was signed as a free agent by the Hornets on August 22, 2008, averaged 5.2 points and 1.9 rebounds in 13.8 minutes off the bench last season. The seven-year veteran, who has also spent time with Cleveland, Denver, Utah, and San Antonio, has played in 415 career games, averaging 7.1 points, 2.8 boards, and 1.5 assists in 19.2 minutes per game. The undrafted product of the University of Texas-San Antonio had his best season in the NBA during the 2006-07 campaign with the Hornets. He averaged a career-high 11.6 points in 58 games (49 starts), along with career-highs in minutes per game (28.7), rebounds (4.3) and assists (2.6). Brown, who was a member of the 2004-05 NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs, has played in 32 career playoff games with the Cavaliers, Hornets, and Spurs.
