2008 PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh has a new sister city: Da Nang, Vietnam.Mayor Luke Ravenstahl signed an agreement Tuesday that makes Da Nang the 16th city to formally create ties with Pittsburgh.Da Nang is the fourth biggest city in Vietnam. Ravenstahl said the two cities will develop economic, cultural and educational exchanges."It is a great investment opportunity for businesses in Pittsburgh. But as we talked about last night at dinner, it is also a great opportunity for the Vietnamese people to invest in Pittsburgh and to look at what we have to offer," said Springdale Rep. Jason Altmire.Representatives from Vietnam and from Pittsburgh-based Alcoa, which has operations in Da Nang, attended the event at the City Council chambers downtown.Pittsburgh's other international sister cities include Bilbao, Spain, and Sheffield, England.
