Countdown To Black Friday Begins

Eight days is all the time remaining to get ready for the start of the holiday shopping season.

The good news is this year shoppers can get a jump start on some of the hottest Thanksgiving and Black Friday bargains.

Countdown To Black Friday Begins

Circulars for many of the big retailers have already started leaking out. From laptop computers to HDTVs to bed sheets, early bird shoppers may snag some products at very cheap prices, provided they're willing to run into the store at the crack of dawn.

If the store decorations haven't yet put you into the holiday shopping spirit, the Black Friday bargains just might, especially if you're the type who gets there before they're gone.

So far, some of the biggest discounts Channel 4 Action News Found were for HDTVs. Best Buy is selling a Samsung 42-inch plasma for $699.99. Target is offering a 26 inch Westinghouse LCD for $299.

If you're looking for a DVD player Sears will have Samsung Blu-Ray players for $199 and at Radio Shack Memorex 1080p Upconversion players are available for $29.99.

At JC Penney look for 60 percent off bedding, towels and men's clothing.

On Thanksgiving day, Kmart will sell fine jewelry at more than 70 percent off.

Specials for the world's biggest retailer Wal-Mart haven't yet been leaked.

Consumers are cautioned that not everything sold on Black Friday is a bargain and shoppers should spend this week researching prices online.

Some shopping centers, like the Monroeville Mall, are also handing out coupon books so shoppers can save even more money at their stores.
