PENN HILLS, Pa. -- Pittsburgh-area shoppers may have to change the way you shop to take part in a discount on gas.

Beginning Tuesday, Giant Eagle shoppers can enter their Advantage Card account numbers on the fuel parks mall Web site to go shopping and collect fuel perks discounts. For every $50 spent online, customers will receive 10 cents off each gallon of gas purchased at Get-Go stations.

Some of the participating retailers include Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue, The Gap, Old Navy, Dick's Sporting Goods, Target, Best Buy, Home Depot, Toys 'R Us and Borders.

"It takes a lot of groceries to get up to that, so it'll be easier going to Home Depot or Best Buy," said Walt Holohan, a shopper.

"I like to see what I'm buying before I purchase it. It makes it convenient, but doesn't give you a true idea of what you need," said Jeff Marshall, a shopper.

Some said fuel perks could be an incentive to shop online even though they don't normally do so.

"I'd rather just go to the store and just have it right there and no wait for the shipping, but if you buy something expensive and got, what is it, $50, You may as well," said Luke Hillegas, a shopper.
