Bradenton, FL -- Chris Heintz' sacrifice fly capped a two-run ninth inning, as the Minnesota Twins rallied to tie the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-5, at McKechnie Field. Michael Restovich chipped in two hits and a run scored for the Twins. Matt Guerrier started for Minnesota and allowed one run on two hits in three innings. Oliver Perez got the start for the Pirates and tossed four scoreless innings. He did not allow a hit, but walked five and struck out six batters.
Jason Bay slammed a solo home run for Pittsburgh, which scored four times in the eighth inning to take a 5-3 advantage.
