Bradenton, FL -- Gabe Gross went 3-for-5 with a homer and three runs batted in to power the Toronto Blue Jays past the Pittsburgh Pirates, 11-5, in spring training action. John McDonald contributed three hits and three runs scored for the Blue Jays, who banged out 17 hits. Jason Alfaro finished 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and Ken Huckaby knocked in two runs for Toronto. Gustavo Chacin picked up the win, despite surrendering five runs on seven hits in four innings.
Dave Williams took the loss after yielding seven runs -- five earned -- on 10 hits in six innings of work. Craig Wilson homered for Pittsburgh.
