MLB Game Summary - Pittsburgh At Philadelphia

Pat Burrell and Tomas Perez homered during a six-run first inning, and the Philadelphia Phillies held on for a 9-7 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Phillies, who improved to 5-6 in exhibition play, scored all six first inning runs with two outs.

Burrell ended 3-for-3 with two homers and four runs batted in. His first inning blast scored the first three Philadelphia runs, Jason Michaels added an RBI double in the inning and Perez followed with a solo homer.

Bobby Abreu also homered for the Phillies, and Cory Lidle picked up his first win of the spring with four decent innings. Lidle allowed two runs on five hits, but struck out three with no walks.

Ty Wigginton and Jose Castillo homered for the Pirates, who are also 5-6 this spring.

Josh Fogg took the loss, allowing seven runs on seven hits through just three innings. Fogg struck out two and walked one.
