Minneapolis, MN -- (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers designated pitcher Franklyn German for assignment Wednesday and recalled pitcher Kameron Loe from Triple-A Oklahoma.

The 28-year-old German was 1-3 with a 2.08 earned run average in 17 relief appearances this season, but took the loss in three of his last four games, surrendering four runs in 5 2/3 innings.

The Rangers have 10 days to trade, release or outright German to the minors.

Loe went 6-11 with a 5.36 ERA in 28 games (23 starts) last season for Texas.

This will be his first action with the big league club this season.
