These are a few of the highlighted events that will take place during "Downtown Pittsburgh, A Holiday Tradition With A New Twist" (formerly known as "Sparkle Season").

Free Holiday Parking November 22 through December 31, Weekdays after 4 p.m. and all-day Saturday and Sunday at these garages: First Avenue, Fort Duquesne Blvd. & Sixth Ave., Garage at Lazarus, Mellon Square, Ninth & Penn aves., Smithfield St./Liberty Ave., Third Avenue, and Wood St./Blvd. of Allies.

Free Holiday Shopping Shuttle: Nov. 23-Dec. 22. Free rides around Downtown. Trolley stops at six locations: Fifth Avenue Place (Liberty Avenue entrance), First Avenue T Station & Garage, PPG Place/Ice Rink (Fourth Avenue), Sixth & Smithfield streets (Mellon Square), Kaufmann's (Smithfield Street, center doors), Lazarus (Fifth Avenue & Wood Street).

22nd Annual "Celebrate the Season" Parade
Begins November 30 at 9:00 a.m., from Mellon Arena to Point State Park. Floats, music from high school bands, equestrian units, drill teams, local radio and TV personalities.

Fifth Avenue Place, November 30, 11:00 am to 4:00 p.m. Holiday puppet show, visit with Santa and receive a special treat, face painting, caricatures, balloon sculptures.
