First H1N1 Death Confirmed In Beaver County

56 H1N1 Cases Confirmed In Beaver County

The Pennsylvania Department of Health has released more information about the first H1N1-related death in Beaver County.

According to the Beaver County coroner, 54-year old Deborah D'Antonio died from the virus on Nov. 3 at a group home in Aliquippa.

The woman's sister said D'Antonio, who had Down Syndrome, was hospitalized twice because of the flu in October.

According to the state department of health Web site, Beaver County has had 56 confirmed cases of H1N1 and two probable cases.

The identity of the victim who died has not been released.

There have been 38 fatal cases of H1N1 in the state.

Philadelphia has had the most deaths (8), while Allegheny County has seen five H1N1-related deaths.
