A limited supply of the H1N1 flu vaccine will be available this weekend for at-risk people throughout Pennsylvania.

Clinics are scheduled across the state from Friday through Sunday. State health officials are limiting the vaccine to people who are considered most vulnerable to complications from H1N1.

  • Mon Valley State Health Center, Eastgate 8, Room 140, Monessen (covering Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties)
  • Butler County State Health Center, 100 Brugh Ave., Monarch Bldg., Suite 201, Butler (covering Butler, Armstrong and Beaver counties)

Allegheny County has set up its own vaccine clinics from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at McKeesport Area, Chartiers Valley, North Allegheny and Schenley high schools. The clinics are being held on a walk-in basis and are for high-risk people only.

The state Department of Health asks that only individuals in the following groups attend vaccine clinics:

  • Household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months
  • Pregnant women
  • Healthcare providers and emergency medical services personnel
  • Individuals under 65 years of age with underlying health conditions, including asthma, diabetes, suppressed immune systems, heart disease, kidney disease, and neurocognitive and neuromuscular disorders
